The top 10 players in FIFA21 Ultimate Team

By Coach Alex

The wait for FIFA21 is almost over! The newest FIFA edition will hit the PS4, Xbox one and PC market on the 6th of October. Preorders are already possible. As always, the main focus is on the Ultimate Team mode.

Recently, EA published the top 100 players list for FIFA21. As always, there are quite a few surprises in there in terms of ratings, check out our most recent blog where we discuss the ratings of Jadon Sancho, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and more. (URL)

This article is all about FIFA21 player ratings as well, but this time it’s about the créme de la créme – these are the Top 10 players in FIFA21 Ultimate Team. We’re talking the likes of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kevin De Bruyne and more. Who is number one? Are the ratings fair? Find out!

The probably biggest surprise in this list comes in on the 10th spot. Nobody had the Real star on their mind when it comes to the top 10 players in the new FIFA. The Brazilian is one of the best defensive midfielders in the world, he is pretty much untouchable in defense and wins almost every duel. He’s also pretty solid offensively and often gets in positions to score goals. Together with Toni Kroos, he builds an insane partnership in the midfield of “Los Blancos”

Nevertheless, an 89 rating for Casemiro seems a bit too high, especially considering that Joshua Kimmich and N’golo Kanté, probably the best CDMs in the world, got a worse rating. Still, the Madrid player will be one of the best CDMs in FIFA21 with stats like 91 physical and 86 defending.

Virgil van Dijk

The 9th place goes to the best defender in the world. Virgil van Dijk from Premier League Champions FC Liverpool is a nightmare for every striker. It’s pretty much impossible to dribble past (he’s set the record for the most minutes without getting dribbled past) and wins practically every aerial duel. On top of that, the Dutch international also regularly scores important goals or assists them with his precise long balls.

The 29-year-old will also be one of the best, if not the best, defender in FIFA21 Ultimate Team. He has a 90 rated card with insane stats, including 76 pace, 91 (!) defending and 86 physical. Van Dijk will once again be THE defender to have in your Ultimate Team next year.

Kylian Mbappé

PSG’s generational talent has made it to the 90s club this year – rightfully so. The frenchman has had one of the best cards in the game for the last two years and this won’t change in FIFA21.

Last season, Mbappé got 30 goals and 19 assists in 37 games. Playing a main role in PSGs best UCL campaign yet. The 21-year-old is widely regarded as the heir of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. The upgrade of +1 compared to his FIFA20 card is well deserved.

In FIFA21, Mbappé will be the best striker together with Cristiano Ronaldo (who of course is also in the top 10 of the best players). With 96 pace he is the fastest player in the game. In addition, he has 91 dribbling 86 shooting, 5* skills and a 4* weak foot.

Sadio Mané

A well-known Liverpool duo are in 7th and 6th place respectively – Sadio Mané and Mohammed Salah. They share a 90 rating and form one of the best duos in the new game.

Mané had a terrific season once again, scoring 22 goals in 47 matches and providing 12 assists in the past season, playing a crucial role in Liverpool’s first championship since the 1990s. The left winger’s game lives from his speed and ice cold finishing.

Few defenders can keep him silent for more than 90 minutes. In our opinion his +2 upgrade compared to FIFA20 is definitely deserved. His best stats are 94 pace, 90 dribbling and 85 shooting.

Mohammed Salah

The lightning fast egyptian has made the top 6 for the first time this year. He and Mané probably form the best winger duo in the world of football.

Last season Salah scored 23 goals in 48 games and gave 13 assists. He became won the League title with Liverpool and became top scorer in the Premier League with 19 goals. Like Mané, the right winger massively profits from his insane speed. Last season, his top speed was clocked at 35km/h.

Just like last year, Salah got a 90 rated card in FIFA21. His standout stats include 93 pace, 90 dribbling and 86 shooting.

Kevin De Bruyne

The Belgian from Manchester City has made the top 5 for the first time in his career, sharing a 91 rating with Neymar and Robert Lewandowski. Th genius playmaker had an outstanding season and definitely deserved his rating, even though he couldn’t win any titles with his team. In 48 games De Bruyne scored 16 goals and 23 assists, he also set a new assist record in the Premier League. With his insane stats, including 93 passing and 88 dribbling, De Bruyne will be one of the most sought-after playmakers in FIFA21 and therefore cost quite a lot of coins.

Despite losing to Bayern Munich in the Champions League final, the Brazilian superstar has probably had his best season at PSG so far. Although he only played 27 games, he scored 19 goals, gave 12 assists and led his team to the league title and cup success. Nevertheless, the left-wing player was downgraded by -1 compared to his 92 rating in FIFA20.

Neymar will be one of the best players in the game once again due to his insane dribbling, shooting, pace and passing. His 5* weak foot and skills combo make him even more unpredictable. The best stats of his 91 rated card are 91 pace and 95 dribbling. Unfortunately he will probably one of the most expensive players as well.

Robert Lewandowski

Bayern Munich’s superstar is in the form of his life, and probably the best player in the world right now. Last season he scored 55 goals and gave 10 assists, numbers that remind us of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Therefore, it’s very unfortunate for him that the Ballon d’Or won’t be awarded this year due to the Corona pandemic.

But at least theres something the polish hero can be proud of – he got a +2 upgrade in FIFA21 and is among the top 5 players for the first time, although he deserved at least a 92 rating in our opinion 😉. Lewandowski hasn’t been the most effective striker in Ultimate Team because of his low pace, we’re curious if this will change with this new card.

Cristiano Ronaldo

The top 2 are once again two men we know very well – Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. This year, the Portuguese player took the short straw and ended up in second place with a 92 rating. Despite his 37 goals and 7 assists in 46 games, the superstar was downgraded by -1. Maybe it’s because his club Juventus Turin only won the league title last season.

Despite his downgrade, the Superstar will probably have the best normal gold card this year once again. His stats, including 89 pace and 93 shooting with 5* skills and 4* weak foot on top will make him the perfect striker. However, he will also be one of the most expensive players of course.

fifarosters-download (12)

Lionel Messi

Once again, “La Pulga” is the best player in the new FIFA Game. Despite a total of 57(!) goal contributions in just 44 games, the Barcelona legend received a downgrade of -1 compared to his FIFA20 rating.

A reason for this could be Barca going trophyless for the first time in years. Still, Lots of fans don’t understand EA’s decision, downgrading a player who had an insane season.

Messi will probably once again be less effective than Ronaldo in FIFA21. Despite his ingame rating being better, he simply doesn’t have the physical strength to win important 50/50 situations

What do you think about the top 10 players this year? Are you satisfied or would you change something? Let us know in the comments.

FIFA21 news – everything you need to know about the new game

By Coach Alex

As FIFA21 is just around the corner, the hype is building up more and more. Fans are eager to finally play the new game which hopefully lets us forget the many headaches FIFA20 has given us with its laggy servers and rough gameplay. If you don’t want to miss any information and news about the next game in the FIFA series look no further than on our GAMERS ACADEMY website. We’re providing everything you need to know about the successor of FIFA20. In this article, you’ll find everything you need to know about release date, new features, different editions and more. Let’s get started!

FIFA 21 - When will the game be released?

Due to the late start of the football season, the FIFA release is also delayed by about two weeks. If you pre-order the game, you’ll be able to play on the 6th of October. Otherwise you’ll have to wait another 3 days until the general release on the 9th of October. As always, it’s up to you whether you choose to download the game or buy a physical copy. FIFA 21 will be released for the following platforms:

  • PS4/PS5
  • Xbox One/SeriesX
  • PC
  • Nintendo Switch
  • Google Stadia

Apart from FIFA21, the next big gaming news is the new generation of consoles Sony and Microsoft are supposedly going to release in November. FIFA21 will be available for those as sson as they come out. If you’ve purchased FIFA21 for Playstation4 or Xbox one – don’t worry – you can simply update your game to the newer version for free.

Next-Gen consoles - What happens to your game progress?

Huge news for everyone that plans to buy the generation of consoles, wether it be the Xbox series x or the PS5! Your game progress in FUT and VOLTA will be linked to your player account, this meas that you’ll be able to transfer your progress onto the new consoles. Unfortunately, this doesn’t apply to your in career mode, pro clubs, etc. your progress in these modes will be lost once you switch to PS5/XSX.

FIFA Ultimate Team – What‘s new?

Let’s start with the game mode we all have a love/hate relationship with – FUT. After years of slight adjustments which often were disappointing, EA has finally announced huge changes to Ultimate Team.

No fitness, healing or training items

Yes you read that right! EA has finally abolished the annoying fitness, healing and trading cards from Ultimate Team. You no longer have to buy expensive team fitness cards after. Your players’ fitness will jump back to 99 after every game. You will also save a lot of your hard earned coins on healing cards because injuries are no longer a part of FUT. No more training cards mean you’ll only be able to boost the stats of your players by using chemistry styles. A blog on that topic is coming very soon – stay tuned.

FUT coop for more interaction

Until now, FUT has always been a single player mode. Playing with friends was only possible the old fashioned way with a second controller. In FIFA21, you’ll finally be able to play with friends all over the world. EA has announced a coop mode similar to pro clubs coming to FUT! The matchmaking is linked to the higher ranked player. If you play in the 7th division and your teammate is a 3rd division player, you’ll have to play against other 3rd division players.

Be a teamplayer for huge prices at FUT events

Thanks to the new Community Challenges all players will be working towards huge prizes. At the beginning of the year, EA will create two huge teams every FUT player can join. These teams will be getting regular tasks they have to fulfil in order to get rewards. In addition, big team events will be scheduled, in which certain tasks have to be completed over a fixed period of time. The winners can look forward to rewards such as coins, packs or club items.

Your own FUT stadium?

Old Trafford, San Siro or the Allianz Arena? Until now, you had to select your stadiums from a huge pool of real football temples. FIFA21 will give you the opportunity to build the stadium of your dreams. Everything – from architecture to goal chants – is going to be customizable. Over time, you’ll unlock more and more individual customization options.

New icons on the field

Once again, icons will be the No. 1 object of desire in FUT. You’ll be able to obtain them through challenges, buy them on the market or pull them in a pack. This year, 11 new icons are coming into the game, here they are:

  • Petr Cech
  • Fernando Torres
  • Xavi
  • Eric Cantona
  • Ashley Cole
  • Samuel Eto’o
  • Davor Suker
  • Bastian Schweinsteiger
  • Philipp Lahm
  • Ferenc Puskas
  • Nemanja Vidic

As usual, the icons included in the game can be key to get the perfect team chemistry. Since they can link with every player in the game, you’ll be able to build incredible teams with them. They have green connections to all other icons as well as to any player of the same nationality. Of course, they still have to be used in the right position.

The FIFA 21 career mode

After many players complained about EA neglecting the career mode, there is a huge update this year. You’ll be able to join into a game your simulating to take matters into your own hands in key scenes of the game.

There are also some innovations in the development of young players. The new development system offers the possibility to readjust the positions of the young players. This makes it even easier to integrate a newcomer into the team. But there are limits to your imagination. The full-back can become a good winger. But it is not possible to turn a goalkeeper into a playmaker.

In addition to the previous player statistics, there is now the so-called clutch value. It determines whether your players are able to deliver thier top game in decisive moments. You’re able to train this ability in your normal training sessions. You can now also regulate the resting time your players are getting. This means that they’re able to go into almost every game with perfect fitness.

Of course, signing new players is still the essential task in career mode. These transfers are now even more realistic in FIFA21. You can now complete loan transfers with different clauses, for example with a buy out fee, just like in real life. This allows you to bring players into your club you normally wouldn’t be able to afford. Maybe this is the year where we all can have Mbappé in our career mode.

This is new at VOLTA

Last year EA introduced the VOLTA mode for the first time as an addition to the traditional FIFA. After initially being a single player experience, the focus is now on playing together with friends. With up to four other players, rapid gameplay is now possible on the small field. FIFA 21 even offers the possibility to bring your own personality into the game. You can customize your own players to challenge other people online with them. Every duo victory means new points and a rise in the rankings.

Besides this new interactive part of VOLTA, the mode remains interesting for single players. New battles are presented in the menu every week. Similar to FUT, you compete against the AI or the best teams from the online community. Perfect technique is crucial in VOLTA. Regarding this aspect, the new VOLTA gameplay seems to be even more important. The new agile dribbling creates more dynamic in your game. In addition, the AI’s running paths have been improved to make the game experience even more realistic on the small field. Despite these new features, fancy skill move remain as the most important feature in every attack.

The shooting system of VOLTA has also been adapted to the smaller dimensions of the pitch. This makes it possible to finish even more precisely. Over the course of the player’s development, he will steadily improve his finishing ability. Nevertheless, in comparison to the standard sized pitch, the finish remains the most difficult aspect in the VOLTA mode. After all, every shot must be controlled manually. You need lots of precision to get goals.

The FIFA 21 Gameplay

Like every year, there are quite a few changes to the gameplay. EA introduced a new dribbling system which promises more control and reactivity with the ball, this allows you to control your players a lot better.

New Skills

In terms of skills, most special moves from the previous editions are still in the game. The controls stay the same as well so you won’t need to learn any new combinations. However, a new feature is the outside of the foot dribbling which can be performed with players who have at least 4* skills. The new ball roll spin finch adds another possibility to gain space and win 1-on1 situations.

Players act more intelligent

In previous parts of the series, even the best players got caught offside on the regular or simply ruined chances due to bad positioning. These times are finally over! EA has introduced the positioning personality in FIFA21. Top players like Aguero will consciously avoid offside positions before the decisive pass is played. Starting with FIFA 21, creative playmakers try to find the gaps between your opponents defensive rows in order to initiate the next dangerous attack. But this new system is not only useful in the offense. Defenders are going to position themselves on the field in a more intelligent way to cut passing lanes and stop attacks. Hopefully this will make FIFA21 more realistic.

Creative runs

The new creative runs feature allows you to play through balls even more precisely. The players will time their runs perfectly and make sure they’re onside. In combination with perfect pass timing, entire defensive lines can be levered out with one pass with the help of the creative runs.

We all remember FIFA14, where headers were the most overpowered finishing technique. This belongs to the past, in the last few FIFAs, headers were useless, you might score a lucky one here or there but they didn’t really contribute much to the attacking game. For this reason, manual control of the headers replace the automated closure in FIFA21. You’re now able to determine the force of a header more precisely. The most important factor for heading in the new FIFA will be the timing in the air duel. Players with good physical stats are going to be very effective in the air.

Shorter animations for less frustration

We all lost our temper more than once due to our opponents excessive celebrating or time wasting, especially in Ultimate Team. Pretty much everyone used every opportunity to annoy the opponent by using offensive celebrations or watching every replay. EA now takes action against this in FIFA 21 and made some changes to the animations in online mode. Goal celebrations are shortened significantly. After a much shorter interruption, the game will be resumed normally. Additionally, the developers took two different celebrations out of the game:

  • The shush celebration which tells the opponent to be quiet
  • The A-Ok celebration which was inspired by Dele All

These two small changes will definitely prevent lots of rage quits. In addition, the waiting time for other set pieces in the game is shortened. If these have not yet been executed after the waiting time has expired, the AI executes a greatly simplified variant. The future waiting times are as follows:

  • Kickoff : 10 Sekunden
  • Throw in : 12 Sekunden
  • Goal kick : 15 Sekunden
  • Penalty : 15 Sekunden
  • Corner : 15 Sekunden
  • Freekick : 20 Sekunden

The top 4 players

Recently EA published the list of the top 100 players in FIFA21, some surprises are again this year – we present you the best 4 players in the new game here.

Robert Lewandowski

Bayern Munich’s superstar played the season of his life – in 47 games he scored an incredible 55 goals and also gave 10 assists, numbers reminiscent of Messi and Ronaldo. Annoying for him that the Ballon d’or will not be awarded this year due to the Corona Pandemic. At least the Pole got a +2 upgrade in FIFA21 and is now on the 3rd place of the best rated players with a 91 card, although in our opinion a 92 would have been in it for him . Lewandowski was not one of the most effective strikers in FIFA so far due to his lack of speed. We are curious if this will change with his new card.

Despite losing to Bayern Munich in the Champions League final, the Brazilian superstar has probably had his best season at PSG. Although he only played 27 games, he scored 19 goals and 12 assists and led his team to the league title and cup success. Nevertheless, the left wing player was downgraded -1 compared to his 92 rating in FIFA20. Neymar will again be one of the best players in the game in the upcoming FIFA, his dribblings, as well as 5* skills and weak foot make him unpredictable but unfortunately also expensive.

Lionel Messi

Once again the little Argentinean is on the 1st place of the best players in the new FIFA Game. Despite a total of 57 goals (!) in just 44 games, the Barcelona legend received a downgrade of -1 compared to his FIFA20 rating. Also in his case this is probably due to the missing titles in the last season. Last year Barcelona was unsuccessful for the first time in years, both nationally and internationally. Messi will probably once again be less effective than Ronaldo in FIFA21, despite his better ingame rating, because he simply doesn’t have the physical strength to succeed in many situations.

Cristiano Ronaldo

In 2nd place are once again the usual suspects – Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. This year, the Portuguese player took the short straw and ended up in second place with a 92 rating. Despite his 37 goals and 7 assists in 46 games, the superstar was downgraded by -1. Maybe it’s because his club Juventus Turin only won the league title last season. Despite his downgrade the Superstar will probably be the best normal card this year as well. His stats make him the perfect goal scorer and 5* skills and 4* weak foot are an added bonus. However, he will of course also cost accordingly.

4 FIFA21 ratings that make absolutely no sense

By Coach Alex

Last week, EA finally revealed what we’ve all been waiting for – the list of the top 100 players in FIFA21 is finally online and some of the ratings were…surprising to say at least. While EA got most of the players right, especially the top 20 players have a lot of shockers this year. In this blog we’re showing you 4 players who’s rating is either way too high or too low – let’s go.

Thiago has had another outstanding season. The Spaniard was the heart in the midfield of treble winners Bayern Munich. Thiago initiated pretty much every attack of the german record champions and after years of the press critisicing him for disappearing in big games, he finally proved that he can be a clutch player as well, performing outstandingly in DFB and UCL final. Last season, Thiago scored 3 goals and gave 2 assists, but his game cannot be defined by his stats.

The 29 year old is one of the best, if not the best midfielder in the world when it comes to dribbling and passing. In our opinion, Thiago definitely deserved an upgrade for his outstanding season but it seems like EA thinks otherwise. The midfield maestro got an 85 rated card in FIFA21, thats worse than Pogba and Fabinho (both 86 rated) who definitely had a bad season.

Jadon Sancho

The Dortmund youngster is one of the biggest talents in the world of soccer. Last season he was able to manifest his status as a super talent once again. With 20 goals and 20 assists in 44 games, Sancho was one of the top scorers in Europe. With a market value of 117 million euros, he’s also one of the most valuable players in the world.

EA honored his incredible season with a deserved upgrade from 84 to 87. While this is definitely a good rating for the 20 year old, 2 stats stand out: 74 shooting and especially 83 pace. A player who scores 20 goals in one season (keep in mind that he’s a winger) should have at least 80 shooting in our opinion. A top speed of 34 km/h also deserves a higher rating than 83, nevertheless, the english man has a solid card in FIFA21.

Serge Gnabry

Bayern Munich’s right winger has had an incredible journey – from Premier League flop to super star and treble winner in just a few years and he shows no signs of slowing down. The last season has been Gnabry’s best one so far. In 46 games he scored 23 goals and had 14 assists. The 25 year old also played a decisive role in the UCL campaign of the german giants where he got 9 goals including several very important ones like the one against Lyon in the semi finals.

You’d think these numbers would earn the german international a huge upgrade from last years 84 rating. Well, you’re wrong EA gave him a 85 rated card and an -7 pace downgrade on top of that – despite a top speed of 33,2 km/h. To put it into persepctive, player with a slower top speed like Eden Hazard and Ciro Immobile got more pace than him. In our opinion, Gnabry at least deserved an 86 rating with 86+ pace.

Gnabry (1)

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

The gabonese played the season of his life last year. “Auba” scored 29 goals in 44 games and won two titles. These stats get a whole new meaning if you’re looking at Arsenals performance last season. The Gunners finished 10th in the Premier League and missed out on international business once again. Except for Aubameyang, only few players were regularly performing on their highest level. Still, EA gave him a –1 downgrade for whatever reason. The striker probably got one of the most ridicolous ratings in FIFA21, especially if you compare it to Roberto Firmino who only scored 9 goals last season and got a +1 upgrade.

Have you seen the new player ratings yet? What do you think of them? Let us know in the comments.

These youngsters are a must have for your Ultimate Team in the new FIFA!

By Coach Alex

Like every year before the release of the new FIFA game, fans are discussing the new player ratings. Which players will get the biggest upgrades or downgrades? In today’s blog, we take a look at the stars who, at least in our opinion, deserve the biggest rating upgrades in FIFA21. We have pretty much every position included – from left back to striker. In the 2019/2020 season, an extraordinary number of youngsters got into the lime light. Some of them will definitely make it into the top 5 of the biggest upgrades.

Erling Haaland

The first player is obvious. The Norwegian who gives funny interviews has played an unbelievable season. Both with RB Salzburg and with Borussia Dortmund since January. The 20-year-old came out of nowhere and performed outstandingly in almost every game and competition he played in – in the league as well as in the cup and Champions League.

By the way, the striker is the son of former Premier League player Alf-Inge Haaland so his talent is no surprise. Erling attracted the attention of several top clubs last season with strong performances for RB and made the switch to Borussia Dortmund in January for just 20 million Euros – another very clever transfer from the Germans. Haaland scored incredible 44 goals last season and also put up 10 assists. He also broke several Champions League and Bundesliga records.

In FIFA20, Haaland started with a 73 rating and got an upgrade to 79 in winter. We think that the youngster definitely deserves an upgrade of at least +6 and an 85 rated card in FIFA21.

Ansu Fati

The 17-year-old Barca youngster is THE discovery of last season. In October last year, he was promoted into Barcelona’s first team at just 16-years-old and it didn’t take long for him to impress players, coaches and experts.

After some very strong performances it didn’t take long until the Spaniard was deemed as Messi’s successor by experts and fans, which shouldn’t be a surprise if you’ve seen him play. Just watch a highlight video of him if you still need to convince yourself.

Fati’s biggest strengths are definitely his dribbling and shooting. Last season the latest product from Barca’s talent factory “La Masia” came up with strong 7 goals and one assist in 33 games. He also broke several records – he became Barcelona’s youngest goal scorer and the youngest goal scorer in the history of the Champions League. Last weekend against Ukraine, Fati also became the youngest goal scorer in the history of the Spanish national team.

Initially, Ansu didn’t even have a card in FIFA20 Ultimate Team. He got a 73 rated card in January. In our opinion, the talent at least deserves a +6 upgrade and a 79 rated card in FIFA21.

Mason Greenwood

The next shooting star comes from the Manchester United’s talent factory. Thanks to an outstanding second half of the season, the Red Devils were able to secure a Champions League place for next year. Mason Greenwood played a decisive role in this comeback. The 18-year-old striker is already a crucial part of the United team. With 19 goals and 5 assists in the past season, he definitely set a high standard for himself in the upcoming season.

Greenwood is a member of the new golden generation of England alongside stars like Jadon Sancho, Phil Foden and many more. Greenwoods biggest advantage is definitely that he’s both footed. Greenwood shoots free kicks and corners with his right and left foot equally precise. A skill only a handful of players on this planet have. Greenwood started FIFA20 with a 67 silver card. A rating that quickly turned out to be too low. In FIFA21 the talent definitely earned himself an upgrade of at least +9 and a 76 rated gold card.

Alphonso Davies

“Phonzie” without a doubt is the biggest surprise from last season. He went from sitting on the bench and playing for the second team to being arguably the best left back in the world. Especially his performance against Barca in Bayern’s incredible 8:2 win left a lot of fans speechless.

Davies started FIFA20 as a 72 rated left midfielder and didn’t get a winter upgrade – which is a joke if you look at his performances even before the winter break. Alphonso will definitely receive a huge upgrade and of course a position change in FIFA21. Our prediction for “Phonzie” is an 82 rated left back card which will be one of the most overpowered options for this position in the upcoming game. If you want to find out more about Alphonso’s life and career, check out our previous blog about him The evolution of “Phonzie”

Billie Gilmour

The young Scot is probably the least known talent on this list. Gilmour plays for Chelsea as a central midfielder and drew attention in the second half of the season. After his performances in the league against Everton (in which he became the youngest MOTM in the history of the Premier League) and in the FA Cup in a surprise win over Liverpool, many experts have compared him to his coach and Chelsea legend Frank Lampard. A great honor for the 19-year-old.

With his just 1,70m of height, the youngster’s playing style strongly reminds of Barca legends Xavi Hernandez and Andres Iniesta. He is calm on the ball and seems to find the right pass every time. A skill not many players possess.

Next season will show if Gilmour can keep up the performances he’s shown this season. Regardless, he will definitely get a better FIFA21 rating than the 62 rated bronze card he got this year. We’re predicting a +10 upgrade to a 72 rated silver card.

What do you think about this prediction and what are other players who deserve a big upgrade in the new FIFA? Let us know in the comments and don’t forget to subscribe to our newsletter if you never want to miss any FIFA21 news again.

Messi, Lewandowski and co – these are the top players in FIFA21!

By Coach Alex

They are the players everybody wants in their Ultimate Team. They make the difference in close Weekend League matches, score goals we never thought were possible, defend every attack or save every shot – the top 10 players in FIFA Ultimate Team. Every year, around 2 weeks before the game releases, EA publishes a list with the top 10 players. We weren’t patient enough, so we put together our very own GAMERS ACADEMY selection of five top stars that will dominate FIFA21. Of course, there are many familiar faces in the list but also a few surprises – check it out.

Virgil van dijk

Last season, the Dutchman confirmed that he is by no means a “one season wonder” and why Liverpool had done the right thing when they bought him for £75 million (= 84 million Euro) in 2018 (a record for a defender at the time). Van Dijk played every single match in the last season and impressed with a duel rate of over 70%. These figures validate that the Dutchman should get an upgrade to a 91 rated card in FIFA21. With him in defense a clean sheet is almost guaranteed.

Robert Lewandowski

The Polish superstar had the best season of his career last year. In 47 games, Bayern’s star striker scored an unbelievable 55 goals and put up another 10 assists. On top of that, he won the treble and set several records, such as the best goal rate in the history of the CL top scorer. Lewandowski was also top scorer in every competition he played in last season – an incredible statistic.

Unfortunately for him, the Ballon d’Or will not be awarded this year due to the corona pandemic. Otherwise, the superstar would have been the number 1 candidate to replace Lionel Messi and win his first golden ball. His achievements of the last season definitely justify a huge upgrade in FIFA21. We think that the striker deserves a 91 rating.

Despite the defeat in the Champions League final, the Brazilian played his best season so far for Paris Saint-Germain, finally injury free, he led PSG to the CL final and two domestic titles. Although the superstar is very controversial in the football world because of his “acting skills” and sometimes exaggerated skills on the pitch, nobody can deny his unbelievable talent. Neymar is without a doubt one of the top 3 players in the world when he is in top form. In 27 games, the left winger scored 19 goals and got 12 assists. In our eyes these stats are enough to keep his 92 FIFA20 rating and stay among the top 3 players in FIFA21.

Cristiano Ronaldo

As every year, CR7 will remain among the top 2 players. Despite his now 35 years of age, the Portuguese is still at the top of the world and top scorer for Juventus Turin. In 46 games the superstar scored 37 goals and gave 7 assists. In the Serie A, the left winger turned striker scored 31 goals and ended up in second place in the goal scorer list behind Ciro Immobile. We believe that Cristiano will neither get an up- nor a downgrade in FIFA21 and will keep his 93 rating.

Lionel Messi

Not a big surprise at the top spot – the Argentinean will remain on the 1st place in the new FIFA. Despite a cursed season with Barcelona in which he couldn’t win any titles, the offensive all-rounder scored 31 goals and gave 26 assists in 44 games. He also set a new assist record in the Spanish league – the next of many records held by the 6-time Ballon d’Or winner.

We think the GOAT will get a 94 rated card in FIFA21. It will be interesting to see which club Messi will play for next year. The superstar seems to have had enough of Barca’s repeated embarrassments in the Champions League and has handed in a transfer request. Of course, the crème de la crème of Europe is fighting over him. We are curious to see where the Barca legend will end up.
