In FIFA 22 it's just like in past FIFA editions. In kick-off mode, you can choose between club teams and national teams. But while new clubs have been diligently added in the latest FIFA game, a lot of national teams are disappearing at the same time, according to "FUTZone". EA SPORTS has reportedly removed 17 nations from the game, while only Ukraine has been added.

Although these are mostly smaller nations, it also affects a few popular teams. In career mode, you will no longer receive job offers from the removed national teams. The players of the affected national teams will still be available in their clubs. However, you should take this information with a grain of salt at the moment.
