Penalty kicks are all about the mix of precision and power
The more you charge the shot indicator, the less accurate the shot becomes. You can see this by the white circle that gets bigger around the cursor. Weaker shots have greater precision, but are easier for the goalkeeper to hold. Strong shots are not so easy for the keeper to get to, but they often lack accuracy. Here it is recommended to practice a little.
If you hold down L2 / LT, the shooter slows down his run-up with the R2 / RT key the player becomes faster. If you start slower, the precision increases, while the shooting power decreases. If you start faster, the precision decreases, while the shooting power increases. With L1 / LB you can casually lob the ball into the goal, while you execute a cut shot with R1 / RB.
