Last week, the top teams in the VBL Club Championship by bevestor secured a spot in the finals to be held at the end of March. This week, the field of participants will be increased by the winners of the final chance round: Borussia Mönchengladbach and FC St. Pauli were the first to punch their ticket to the final.

Borussia Mönchengladbach in final with golden goal

In the past season of the VBL Club Championship by bevestor, Borussia Mönchengladbach’s E-Sports team ranked fourth in the North-West Division. By scoring a golden goal against the fifth-placed team in the South-East Division, 1. FC Nürnberg, the Foals are now through to the grand final, which will take place on 27 and 28 March.
The Gladbach team owed this chance mainly to Eleftherios “Lefti” Ilias, who won his individual match with a score of 5:2. After a draw in the 2vs2 match and a loss on PlayStation, the clubs had to go into a deciding fourth game – with the better outcome for Borussia Mönchengladbach.
In the eighth minute of the game, Yannick “Jeffryy” Reiners made the bag and gave Borussia E-Sports the place in the final.

FC St. Pauli also secures victory late

The second game of the final chance round in the VBL Club Championship by bevestor was similarly close, with the third-placed team in the North-West Division (FC St. Pauli) facing the sixth-placed team in the South-East Division (Hertha BSC Berlin).
Once again, the eFootball pros from Hamburg relied on attractive offensive football, which distinguished the Kiez club, which was considered an underdog before the season. The E-Kiezkicker won the 2vs2 match 2:0, while the victory on Xbox went to Hertha and pro Christioph “Chrissi291” Strietzel.
Thanks to a 2-2 draw on PlayStation, the winner of the second game of the final chance round also had to be determined in a deciding match. Here, it took until the 52nd minute of play for the FC St. Pauli players to score the golden goal and thus secure their place in the final.
Already tonight the ball rolls again in the final chance round, then TSG Hoffenheim and Bayer 04 Leverkusen meet at 18:00, before FC Augsburg meets VFL Wolfsburg at 20:00.
