FIFA 21 RTTF Champions League Upgrades

FIFA 21 RTTF Champions League Upgrades

The FIFA 21 Road to the Final cards get their upgrades (Source: EA Sports)
In the Champions League Round of 16, the return legs are coming up next Tuesday and Wednesday. Every FIFA fan and especially the lucky ones who are in possession of one of the coveted Road to the Final cards are watching this event very closely. We show you which cards might get an upgrade.

In November last year the popular RTTF event started in FIFA 21, where every player gets live upgrades to his overall rating, if his club celebrates success in the Champions League. After the round of 16 finals, the players of the winning teams already received an upgrade. For example, Dortmund’s Manuel Akanji received an upgrade from 84 to 86 OVR after the 2:3 first leg win against Sevilla.

Now the round of 16 second legs are coming up and every team that manages to advance to the next round will receive another upgrade for their players. For reaching the semifinals, the final and for winning the tournament, players can get another upgrade.
This is how the players could look like after their upgrades (Source: EA Sports)

Which players are still in the race?

From the Champions League, the following players are still in the competition:
England – Premier League
Mohamed Salah (Liverpool FC)
Georginio Wijnaldum (Liverpool FC)

Germany – Bundesliga
Lukas Klostermann (RB Leipzig)
Julian Brandt (Borussia Dortmund)
Manuel Akanji (Borussia Dortmund)

Spain – La Liga
Antoine Griezman (FC Barcelona)
Jules Kounde (Sevilla FC)

Italy – Serie A
Alex Sandro (Piemonte Calcio/Juventus Turin)

France – Lique 1
Mauro Icardi (Paris Saint-Germain)
Julian Draxler (Paris Saint-Germain)

Portugal – Primeira Liga
Felipe Anderson (FC Porto)
Despite the numerous other promo events, some of these cards are still among the strongest in their position and are a boost for any FUT squad. Especially when you consider the possible upgrades. These are also a reason why many of the cards are worth investing in, because if you bet on the right team, you can win big in the end.

FIFA 21 FUT What If – Best players from team 1

FUT What If: Best players from team 1

The best players from the first What If team (Source: EA Sports)
For the past week, FIFA 21 has been all about the question “What if?”. The current promo event goes by the name of FUT What If and entices with dynamic special cards if the teams meet certain requirements in real sports. We introduce you to the best players from What If team 1 before the second selection is released on Friday.

Yuri Berchiche (LB, Atletic Bilbao)

Outstanding as a left-back or center-back, Yuri Berchiche. (Source: EA Sports)
Really strong left-backs in Spanish La Liga are a rarity. Especially if you did not complete the SBC for Acuna at the time, you should get the new FUT What If card of Yuri Berchiche.

For around 100,000 coins you get one of the best left-backs in the game, who is also good to play in central defense. The chances of getting the one-time +2 upgrade are also quite good.

Chris Smalling (CB, Roma FC)

The speedy central defender that Serie A has been missing. (Source: EA Sports)
As an Englishman who enjoys cult status on the island, Smalling is truly no bargain. Almost 700,000 coins cost the currently best central defender that Serie A can boast – at least if it goes according to the FIFA 21 meta. An upgrade for a game without conceding a goal is definitely in the cards, even if Roma only have three games left to do so.

Marcelo (CB, Olympique Lyon)

Marcelo’s card looks pretty good after the upgrade. (Source: EA Sports)
On March 03, Marcelo secured victory with Olympique Lyon without conceding a goal, so the card will rise to a total value of 90 in the coming week. THESE values for currently around 110,000 coins? That’s not just a bargain, that’s almost a gift.

Jadon Sancho (RM, Borussia Dortmund)

Truly not cheap, but the stats look really good too. (Source: EA Sports)
What If-Jadon Sancho marks by a wide margin the best right midfielder in the Bundesliga. Borussia Dortmund has already scored three of the six goals needed for the +2 upgrade. Now imagine that card with 92 OVR. Sure: As an Englishman with 5 star skills, Sancho naturally comes at a price.

Alejandro Gomez (CAM, Sevilla FC)

Finally with enough stamina to get through a game – Papu Gomez. (Source: EA Sports)
Sevilla FC’s winter newcomer secures second place among Team 1’s best FUT What If cards. A boost of +15 points of stamina and at least +9 points of strength compared to his gold card make Papu even stronger – pace, passing and dribbling are already beyond reproach anyway. At around 1.2 million coins, however, truly no bargain.

Kevin Mbabu (RB, VFL Wolfsburg)

One of the three best right-backs in the game - Kevin Mbabu. (Source: EA Sports)
The Bundesliga has a new best right-back and he goes by the name of Kevin Mbabu. 96 pace, 86 defense and 88 physicality speak for themselves. With Sentinel Mbabu comes to a total value of 93 and that both as an outside and as a central defender. Outstanding.

Check Out Neymar’s Incredible FIFA 21 FUT Squad

Check Out Neymar's Incredible FIFA 21 FUT Squad

Neymar relies mostly on his own countrymen in FUT. (Credit: EA Sports)
Superstar Neymar was not in the squad for Paris Saint-Germain’s win this weekend, the Brazilian preferring to spend his time in FIFA 21 Ultimate Team instead. With a FUT squad as strong as his, it’s no wonder.

Neymar is a true gamer and esports fan. The self-confessed CS:GO player is also playing FIFA 21 when he is not on the real pitch. Unsurprisingly, he relies mainly on Brazilian legends for his incredibly strong FUT team.

Neymar's FIFA 21 Ultimate Team Squad

There is almost no FIFA pro in the world where Neymar’s In-Form card (92 OVR) is not in the starting eleven. The Brazilian is of course allowed to fall back on his own Pro Player card, which is rated 99 across the board. We can hardly imagine how a 99 OVR Neymar feels like.

The PSG star was playing FIFA 21 rather than football this weekend and his team was spotted on Reddit. Unsurprisingly, Neymar’s team is quite something: seven Brazilians are in his team, complemented by perhaps the best central defense that FIFA 21 has to offer.
There’s not a single weak position in Neymar’s FUT team. (Credit: theEvatra12 via Reddit)
Only the goalkeeper needs clarification. Icon Moments Peter Schmeichel, as great as he is, is far from the best option at goal.

Neymar's FUT Lineup

  • GK: Peter Schmeichel (Icon Moments) – 93 OVR
  • LB: Roberto Carlos (Prime Icon) – 91 OVR
  • CB: Paolo Maldini (Mid Icon) – 92 OVR
  • CB: Virgil van Dijk (TOTY) – 96 OVR
  • RB: Carlos Alberto (Mid Icon) – 90 OVR
  • CM: Ruud Gullit (Mid Icon) – 90 OVR
  • LM: Neymar (Pro Player) – 99 OVR
  • CAM: Kaká (Prime Icon) – 91 OVR
  • CAM: Pelé (Mid Icon) – 95 OVR
  • RM: Garrincha (Mid Icon) – 92 OVR
  • ST: Ronaldo (Mid Icon) – 94 OVR
Even with our small remark on Schmeichel, Neymar’s FUT lineup is outright scary. Anyone going against it in Weekend League isn’t going to be in for a fun ride.

FIFA 21: Leroy Fer available via SBC in What If-Promo

FIFA 21: Leroy Fer available via SBC in What If-Promo

Leroy Fer is the next What if SBC player (Source: EA Sports)
With Leroy Fer the next SBC player has been introduced in the new FIFA 21 promo What If. The midfielder’s card is available until March 9.

What If-Fer with OVR of 85

With an overall rating of 85, Leroy Fer’s special item is still nine points better than the Feyenoord Rotterdam midfielder’s standard card. The physicality value in particular stands out with a rating of 90, while the second-best value is passing with a rating of 83. With his strong defensive values, Fer is an option for the defensive midfield; thanks to a strong shooting power with a rating of 96 and a long-range shot that is still rated at 82, the odd foray forward is also possible.

As known from the new What If promo, two additional rating points can be earned for the card. To do so, Feyenoord must score a total of six or more goals in the next five league games.

SBC solution

And how is Fer available? The Squad Building Challenge (SBC) is not too much of a challenge, just one team needs to be traded in eventually, and costs less than 100,000 coins when put together optimally. The following requirements have to be met: The eleven must contain at least one player from the Netherlands, have a team rating of 84 or more, and a team chemistry of at least 70 – this should be doable within a week, i.e. by March 9.

FIFA 21: What If Raphinha SBC

FIFA 21: What If Raphinha SBC

The first What If SBC goes to Raphinha. (Source: EA Sports)
The first player SBC of the new What If promo has arrived. Brazilian Raphinha from Leeds United secures the special card, which is anything but cheap at around 430,000 coins.

FIFA 21 What If Raphinha

The best values are 94 speed, 87 crosses and 91 stamina. Especially with the Marksman or Deadeye Chemistry Style, What If Raphinha is quite respectable, but the card is not really outstanding at the moment.
3 stars Weak Foot and the rather high price speak against the conclusion. In addition, an upgrade is possible, but rather difficult to realize: Leeds United would have to score a full six goals in the next four league games, which will be difficult.

What If Raphinha SBC Solution

To secure the FUT 21 What If Raphinha card, you’ll have to trade in a whole three teams – which you only have one week to do:
  • Team with one TOTW player (83 OVR, min. 80 chemistry)
  • Team with one player from Brazil (85 OVR, min. 1 TOTW, min. 65 chemistry)
  • Team with one player from the Premier League (86 OVR, min. 55 chemistry)

Team 1: Top Form

This team costs just under 40,000 coins, in which you combine La Liga, Liga NOS and CSL. You’ll use Adrien Thomasson from TOTW 21 as the required information card.
The first team does not cost too much yet. (Source: FUTBIN)

Team 2: Brazil

Team 2 will make quite a big hole in your virtual wallet with about 175,000 coins. The Brazilian you need is Oscar, and you also use the RTTF card of Grimaldo (Benfica Lisbon). Jordan Veretout is used as the TOTW card.
Grimaldo's low-cost RTTF card is used in the 2nd SBC. (Source: FUTBIN)

Team 3:
Premier League

The third team already costs a whopping 230,000 coins. The team is mainly made up of Ligue 1 and Premier League players. Only Dušan Tadic from Ajax Amsterdam is optional and can be replaced by any card with 83 OVR or more.
With this hybrid team of Ligue 1 and Premier League, you complete the third challenge.

FIFA 21: Player Moments Thomas Müller SBC Solution

FIFA 21 FUT Player Moments Thomas Müller SBC Solution

Finally a playable card of Thomas Müller. (Source: EA Sports)
Not only did the brand new What If promo launch this weekend, but there’s finally the special card for Thomas Müller that you’ve been waiting for. Actually, Müller should have been in the Team of the Year, but the new variant is also worth seeing: We have the Player Moments Thomas Müller SBC solution.

FIFA 21 Player Moments Thomas Müller

It currently costs just under 290,000 coins to complete the Squad Building Challenge. You still have until March 26 to secure Player Moments Thomas Müller for your team. Even if the card isn’t quite as strong as you might have hoped, the values are still impressive.

Müller’s speed in particular is significantly higher than on his gold card. He scored a whopping 17 points on top of that. 87 shooting and passing, 88 dribbling and 83 physicality make Player Moments Thomas Müller a real all-rounder in the offense. The skill upgrade should also make the card interesting for many. The new version has four star special moves.

Player Moments Thomas Müller SBC Solution

You’ll have to trade in a total of two teams for Müller’s new map. However, since you have 26 days to do so, you can take your time with the completion and use your Squad Battles or Rivals rewards.
  • Team with one player from Bayern Munich (84 OVR, min. 70 chemistry)
  • Team with one player from the Bundesliga (86 OVR, min. 55 chemistry)

Team 1: Bayern Munich

For less than 80,000 coins, you complete the first challenge. (Source: FUTBIN)
The first team will cost you almost 77,000 coins. Here you’ll choose a Bundesliga team, in which you’ll use central defender Lucas Hernández as a player of FC Bayern Munich.

Team 2: Bundesliga

The most favorable hybrid team for the 2nd SBC to Player Moments Thomas Müller. (Source: FUTBIN)
The second team is considerably more expensive with around 210,000 coins. Here you use Manuel Neuer, Joshua Kimmich and Robert Lewandowski from FC Bayern Munich, who account for the majority of the coins. The team is supplemented by a Brazilian midfield from the Chinese CSL and the two Bosnians Visca and Dzeko.

FIFA 21: New promo ‘What If’ started

FIFA 21: New promo ‘What If’ started

With ‘What If’ EA Sports has started the next event in FIFA 21. On Friday the first players of the new promo were presented.
‘What if’ Team 1 (Source: EA Sports)

FIFA21: These are the first players

What if … ? – That’s what everything in FIFA 21 Ultimate Team (FUT) is about at the moment. On Friday, EA Sports introduced the new promo What If and revealed the first 13 new cards of the players. The best overall rating of the first team features N’Golo Kanté of Chelsea FC, whose card is rated with 91, three points better than the best version available so far. From the Bundesliga, Jadon Sancho of Borussia Dortmund (90), Luka Jović of Eintracht Frankfurt (87) and Kevin Mbabu of VfL Wolfsburg (85) are in the first team.

What’s special about What If is that the cards are dynamic items whose values can change. Specifically, it’s a one-time improvement of the base item by two points in the overall rating if certain criteria are met. Strikers and midfielders, for example, are upgraded if their club scores a total of six or more goals in the next five league games. Defenders and goalkeepers, on the other hand, will receive the upgrade if their team goes without conceding a goal at least once in the next five league games. Games are counted from the time the item was first released in FUT.

Raphinha available via SBC

Completing the first line-up of What If are Christian Gómez of Atletico Madrid (90), Marcelo of Olympique Lyon (88), Chris Smalling of AS Roma (88), Martin Ødegaard of Arsenal FC (88), Yuri Berchiche of Athletic Bilbao (87), Roberto Pereyra of Udinese Calcio (87) and Pierre Lees-Melou of OGC Nice (86). Via SBC, Raphinha of Leeds United (87) is also available, while Francesco Caputo of Sassuolo Calcio (87) is Objectives Player. The previous promo, Headliners, had already been dynamic cards whose rating adjusted with corresponding successes. ‘What If’ is already the fourth big promo in FUT in 2021 after Headliners, Team of the Year and Future Stars.

FIFA 21: The RTTF upgrades of the knockout round in UCL & UEL

FIFA 21: The RTTF upgrades of the knockout round in UCL & UEL

The first round of RTTF upgrades is through. (Source: EA Sports)
The knockout rounds of the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League are in full swing. For FIFA 21 players, this means that there are more upgrades in store for the dynamic RTTF cards. We’ll tell you which cards are going up in rating.

FUT 21 RTTF: What is it?

The RTTF (Road to the Final) cards are dynamic special objects whose values increase when the respective player’s team makes it to the next round of the Champions or Europa League. The Champions League is currently in its eighth-final stage: Here, an upgrade beckons if the team wins the first leg and another if it advances to the quarterfinals. The Europa League is different, however, because the intermediate round was played this week – so we are one round further away from the final. Here, the only upgrade that beckons is if the team advances to the round of 16.

Whether the respective player is used in the games is unimportant for the upgrades. Only the team’s results count here.

Champions League Round of 16: The RTTF upgrades

In the round of 16 of the Champions League many dynamic RTTF maps are in use. Meanwhile the first legs have been played and the first RTTF upgrades have found their way into FIFA 21. Some of the values will be adjusted on February 26 at 19:00, coinciding with the new What If event. The return matches will take place from 09.03. – 10.03. and 16.03. – 17.03. respectively, then the chance for another upgrade beckons.
UCL RTTF upgrades after the first legs:
  • RF: Mohamed Salah (Liverpool FC) – 92 OVR -> 93 OVR
  • ZM: Georginio Wijnaldum (Liverpool FC) – 87 OVR -> 88 OVR
  • ST: Mauro Icardi (PSG) – 87 OVR -> 88 OVR
  • ZOM: Julian Draxler (PSG) – 85 OVR -> 86 OVR
  • ZOM: Julian Brandt (Borussia Dortmund) – 87 OVR -> 88 OVR
  • IV: Manuel Akanji (Borussia Dortmund) – 84 OVR -> 86 OVR
  • LM: Felipe Anderson (FC Porto) – 86 OVR -> 87 OVR
  • IV: David Alaba (Bayern Munich) – 87 OVR -> 88 OVR
  • LV: Alphonso Davies (Bayern Munich) – 86 OVR -> 87 OVR
  • ZOM: Mason Mount (Chelsea FC) – 85 OVR -> 86 OVR
  • LF: Eden Hazard (Real Madrid) – 90 OVR -> 91 OVR
  • IV: Raphaël Varane (Real Madrid) – 88 OVR -> 89 OVR
  • ZOM: Isco (Real Madrid) – 87 OVR -> 88 OVR
  • ST: Gabriel Jesus (Manchester City) – 85 OVR -> 86 OVR
  • RV: João Cancelo (Manchester City) – 86 OVR -> 87 OVR
The upgrades of the Champions League RTTF cards. (Source : EA Sports)

Europa League Intermediate Round RTTF Upgrades

In contrast to the Champions League, the intermediate round in the Europa League is already finished. On February 25, the UEL RTTF cards secured their upgrades, which will also find their way into FIFA 21 Ultimate Team on February 26.

Here, the next knockout round, the round of 16, begins on March 11. Then another upgrade beckons if the team makes it to the round of 16.

  UCL-RTTF upgrades of the intermediate round:
  • ZM: Moussa Sissoko (Tottenham Hotspur) – 84 OVR -> 86 OVR
  • ST: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Arsenal London) – 89 OVR -> 90 OVR
  • ZM: Paul Pogba (Manchester United) – 87 OVR -> 88 OVR
  • LM: Marcus Rashford (Manchester United) – 86 OVR -> 87 OVR
  • MS: Dušan Tadic (Ajax Amsterdam) – 85 OVR -> 86 OVR
  • LM: Taison (Shakhtar Donzek) – 84 OVR -> 86 OVR
  • RV: Bruno Peres (Roma FC) – 84 OVR -> 85 OVR
  • ZM: Franck Yannick Kessié (AC Milan) – 84 OVR -> 86 OVR
  • ST: Ante Rebic (AC Milan) – 84 OVR -> 86 OVR
There are still some upgrades to come in the Europa League. (Source: EA Sports)
It is currently unclear whether Quincy Promes (Ajax Amsterdam) will receive an upgrade. On February 24, the Dutchman announced his move to Spartak Moscow, which means he will no longer be competing for a team that plays in the Europa League. According to EA Sports, this means that no further upgrades are possible.

FIFA 21 FUT What If-Event: Release, Players & Info

FIFA 21 FUT What If event starts: What can we expect?

A brand-new event, “What If,” launches Feb. 26 (Source: EA Sports).
Actually, the entire FIFA community would have expected the start of the FUT Winter Refresh at the weekend, but it comes – once again – differently. In the loading screen of the FIFA 21 Ultimate Team mode EA Sports has now announced a brand new FUT event called “What If”. What is behind it?

FUT 21 What If: When does the event start?

As can be seen from the new loading screen for FIFA 21’s FUT mode, the brand new What If event will start on February 26, 2021 at 19:00 German time. Presumably the new promo will extend over a period of two weeks again, but a duration of only one week would also be conceivable.

What If promo event: card design and hints

In the second loading screen, the brand new FUT 21 What If card design was revealed, which was previously leaked on the Xbox Store. Interesting fact: The What If cards feature two arrows at the top, which could indicate that the new items are live cards similar to Headliners or Road to the Final players.

The arrows on the What If cards indicate dynamic special cards. (Source: EA Sports)

FUT What If event: What can you expect?

The What If event is a brand new promo that has never been seen before in the FIFA series. However, the concept behind it is still unclear at the moment.

At first, the community assumed that we might expect players with a position change – similar to the FUT Shapeshifters in FIFA 20, but that was already the case with the FUT Freeze event and is therefore rather unlikely.

Meanwhile, another leak from a reliable source is making the rounds: As Jack Lang reveals via Twitter, you can expect dynamic live cards in FUT 21 What If, which are supposed to work similarly to the Headliners.

However, potential updates are not linked to won matches or inform cards, but to certain tasks of the teams: For example, when a team scores a certain number of goals or goes several games without conceding a goal.

The arrow on the What If cards is reminiscent of the popular FUT Showdown SBCs, such as the recent duel between Oleksandr Zinchenko and Patrick Herrmann. It is therefore conceivable that the new promo cards could also receive a one-off upgrade.

The design of the new What If cards is reminiscent of the FUT Showdowns. (Source: EA Sports / EarlyGame)

FUT 21 What If: Which players are included?

Which players you can expect at the new What If promo event in FIFA 21 Ultimate Team is currently still unclear. However, it can be assumed that at least one player of Borussia Dortmund will be part of it.

After all, after the derby win against Schalke 04, there is surprisingly not a single BVB professional in the current Team of the Week. Jadon Sancho is considered a hot candidate, as Erling Haaland can already show a live card.

Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar, who surprisingly wasn’t voted Ligue 1 Player of the Month, would also be a hot candidate. Until we know more details, however, you’ll have to wait until Friday night.

FIFA 21 FUT Flashback Toni Kroos SBC

Flashback Toni Kroos SBC Solution

Icon-level stats: Flashback Toni Kroos is not to be missed. (Source: EA Sports)
Already leaked over the weekend, now finally available. You are looking for a central midfielder with values on the level of a Prime Icon? Then you should definitely pick up the Flashback Toni Kroos SBC. We provide you with the SBC solution to the 2014 world champion.

In the recently launched Icon Swaps 2 you can secure the central midfielder Deco, among others. A German World Champion from 2014 with even stronger stats is now available as an SBC: Flashback Toni Kroos makes even some of the best Prime Icons look pretty old.

Flashback Toni Kroos is that good

The card costs around 350,000 coins and you can get it in FIFA 21 Ultimate Team until March 16. The central midfielder’s outstanding stats are 98 shooting power, 94 overview, 97 short passing, 94 ball control and 93 calmness.

With the Shadow Chemistry style, you tackle the somewhat low tempo and get a player who should easily be competitive all the way to Team of the Season. The only drawback is the 87 stamina, which causes Flashback Toni Kroos to run out of breath as a box-to-box midfielder, especially in intense games around the 80th minute. But you can get over that with stats like that.

Flashback Toni Kroos SBC solution

You have three weeks to get the special Kroos card. For this you need to trade three teams:
  • Team with a player from the Bundesliga (83 OVR, min. 1 TOTW, min. 80 chemistry).
  • Team with a player from La Liga (84 OVR, min. 1 TOTW, min. 75 chemistry)
  • Team with a TOTW player (85 OVR, min. 70 Chemie)

Team 1: Bundesliga

The first team costs about 57,000 coins. Here you combine five players each from Bundesliga and Serie A with each other. As a needed inform card you fall back on Adrien Thomasson from TOTW 21.
Robin Gosens serves as the link between Bundesliga and Serie A. (Source: FUTBIN)

Team 2: La Liga

In addition to four players from Ajax Amsterdam, the second team relies mainly on the Spanish La Liga. Alex Meret from TOTW 21 fulfills the Inform requirement, but due to the lack of chemistry you can also use any other TOTW card with a total value of 82 or more. Around 100,000 coins is what this team will cost you.
The second team costs just under 100,000 coins on the transfer market. (Source: FUTBIN)

Team 3: Top Form

Here, a whopping 186,000 coins are already due. The cheapest solution is a hybrid team from La Liga and Serie A. In midfield, the two Brazilians Arthur and Lucas Leiva form the bridge to the Chinese CSL. In addition, you use Future Stars Andriy Lunin and Roman Yaremchuk as an inform card -though you can also use another TOTW player with 84 OVR or more.
With Future Stars Lunin and TOTW Yaremchuk, you complete the third challenge. (Source: FUTBIN)
