On December 04th the next-gen version of FIFA 21 for the PS5 and the Xbox Series will be released. If you want to be on the pitch on time for the kick-off, you can already start the preload for the new generation now. We show you how it works!

Sleep a few more times and FIFA 21 will be released for the new PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. If you want to be well prepared for the release date, you can download the next-gen version already now. You have to complete the following steps to start the preload for FIFA 21.

The best news first: All console players who already own FIFA 21 do not have to buy the Next-Gen version again. If you switch within a console family (from PS4 to PS5 or from Xbox One to Series X|S) you get the new version for free – thank you, Dual Entitlement.
Your scores will also be transferred with the new version. If you already got one of the new consoles, you can already play thanks to backwards compatibility, but you have to wait a little bit for the next-gen version. But the preload is already available now.
FIFA 21 Preload Next-Gen: How it works on the Xbox Series X|S!
Microsoft has already released the new Xbox Series. Every lucky player who could get hold of a device in the first swing can already enjoy the latest generation of consoles. For the preload you have to complete the following steps:
1. turn on the Xbox Series X|S
2. press the Xbox button on the controller
3. navigate to the menu item “My games and apps
4. click on your library and then on “All purchased games
5. download FIFA 21 for Xbox Series X|S
FIFA 21 Preload Next-Gen: How it works on the PS5!
All PlayStation maniac people have to be patient for another week. So the procedure for the preload is not quite clear yet. As Sony has already revealed, you will find a separate menu item for next-gen upgrades in the PS5 user interface.
We can expect more information on November 12th, as the console will be available in North America. Probably you will be able to access FIFA 21 via the game library and do the corresponding next-gen upgrade there.
What about the disc version?
All owners of the physical version can expect a more complicated act. If you want to have your next-gen version you have to contact the EA support. They will ask for your EA account information and hopefully get everything else set up.
