David Beckham is without a doubt one of the most influential footballers of the 20th century. During his time with Manchester United, “Becks” became English champion six times, won two FA Cups and in 1998/99 even the Champions League. At least virtually, Beckham will soon celebrate his comeback: from December, the Englishman will join the squad of FIFA 21 icons.
EA Sports announced today a multi-year global partnership with English footballer David Beckham. After FIFA 13, “Becks” will return to the virtual soccer field for the first time in December 2020.
His virtual return will be celebrated. If you play FIFA 21 until January 15, 2021, you can look forward to a unique, untradable Beckham item for FIFA 21 Ultimate Team. In addition, the creators of the game will give you the player as a groundbreaker for the VOLTA mode.
David Beckham becomes new FIFA 21 Icon
In December 2020 David Beckham will follow as the new FIFA 21 icon and marks the twelfth new legend for the current series after Eric Cantona, Ashley Cole or Philipp Lahm.
There will be three new icon cards (Early Moment, Prime Moment and Late Moment) from Beckham, which will be available in card packs next month. EA Sports will announce the specific date in the coming days.
In addition, Beckham will adorn the virtual standard edition of FIFA 21 Standard in Xbox and PlayStation Store with its own cover over the holidays. Beckham himself is pleased about the cooperation and reveals:
“I am so proud to finally return to EA Sports FIFA with my own cover of the FIFA 21 Beckham Edition and that. I’m looking forward to being back on the pitch with my old teammates as icons”.
