Many fans are waiting for new Showdown SBCs from EA (Source: EA SPORTS)
At the end of 2020, EA announced via Twitter the return of the popular Showdown SBCs. However, the release of the Squad Building Challenges has been slow, and many fans have been waiting for the next Showdown for weeks.
The principle of the Showdown SBCs is quickly explained using the example of the two Eredivisie players Sean Klaiber and Donyell Malen. The clubs of the two faced each other in a league match on January 10 and a few days before their SBCs appeared, one each for the Ajax Amsterdam right-back and the PSV Eindhoven striker. When the match starts, the SBCs end and the winner gets a boost of plus two to his overall rating. The loser gets no boost and in case of a draw both players get a boost of plus one.
This past summer's celebrated Showdown SBCs return, now in #FUT21 👊
The winning team's player item gets a +2 OVR boost (+1 in the event of a draw).
So it’s a kind of bet you place on the outcome of the match and in the end you can definitely be a winner, because with prices of about 80,000 coins the two Dutchmen were real bargains.
A few days later another and the so far last Showdown SBC appeared. The two Premier League players Scott McTominay and James Milner were presented to the FIFA community and the SBC ended on January 17th. Unfortunately nothing happened since then and many fans are waiting for a continuation of the popular SBC series for almost four weeks now. The developers of EA should not lack ideas, because for weeks there have been wild speculations and predictions in the social media, which duels are suitable as the next showdown – whether EA will continue the popular mode remains to be seen and will be seen in the coming weeks.
